Randy Baden Woody FlowersCongratulations to Randy Baden, LASA Robotics Chief Welding Mentor, winner of the 2013 Lone Star Regional Woodie Flowers Award!  Now LASA Robotics has 3 Woodie Flowers Finalist Award Winners, one of only a handful of teams with this honors.  Pictured at left are Danny Diaz (2010 winner), Randy Baden (2013 winner), and Tony Bertucci (2009 winner).

The Woodie Flowers Award celebrates effective communication in the art and science of engineering and design. Dr. William Murphy founded this prestigious award in 1996 to recognize mentors who lead, inspire, and empower using excellent communication skills. Each year, students choose one mentor on the team (who has not already won the Woodie Flowers Award) and submit a 3,000 character max essay nominating that mentor to be considered for this award.
